Nigeria lost the chance to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games football tournament as they draw 0-0 to South Africa in Cairo on Friday.
The Olympic Eagles were looking for a goal to make it but their clear chance in making that happen was blown away by Sunday Faleye in the closing minute as he headed amiss.
Zambia were kicked out 1-0 by Ivory Coast to top the group with 6 points, and South Africa coming second with 5 points, leaving Nigeria at the third spot with 4 points and Zambia 1.
South Africa will face group A winner Egypt and Ivory Coast will play group A runners-up Ghana for the semi-final rounds.
Winners of the semifinal round will be guaranteed places at the Tokyo Olympics while losers get to play third-place to redeem last available slot.
