Algeria team beat Nigeria to qualify for the final

Mahrez last minute sensational free kick set the Algerian side to their first AFCON final since 29 years.

The Algerian side started the game with an impressive performance and dominance on the ball in the first half.

The had an ample opportunities to take the lead. Their first threat to goal came close from a set piece that was a close miss. Their attacker, Baghdad Bounedjah had several opportunities to give his side a lead but was denied by the keeper, Daniel Akpeyi, at one time and another by the Nigerian defender, Jamilu Collins.

Around 40 minutes, the Algerian opened the score with the help of an own goal from the Nigeria defender Troost Ekong, who chested a deflect pass from Mahrez into his own net.
