President Muhammadu Buhari departed Abuja for New York, USA ahead of the 74th Session of United Nations General Assembly.
President Buhari was accompanied by the governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state. FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello and other government officials.
The President’s participation at this year’s gathering of world leaders is particularly significant as it coincides with Nigeria’s Presidency of UNGA for the second time in 30 years.
the theme for the pgrogramme is ” Galvanizing Multilateral Efforts For Poverty Eradication, Quality Education, Climate Action and Inclusion.”
President Buhari is scheduled to deliver Nigeria’s National Statement as the fifth speaker on the first day of the debates.
While in New York, the President an his delegates are expected to discuss bilateral issues with some world leaders and players in global economy.
