Chelsea secure Europa league title in a comfortable lead

Chelsea beats Arsenal 4-1 to win Europa league final in what seems to be the club major trophy under coach Maurizio Sarri.

After a halfhearted first half, former Arsenal hero Alex Giroud gave Chelsea the lead with a bending header at about 49 min of the second half. At about 10 min, Chelsea doubled their lead when Pedro converted a pass from Eden Hazard past the Arsenal keeper Petr Cech.
With Arsenal hanging on a rope, Ainsley Maitland-Niles foul on Giroud gave Chelsea a penalty which was beautifully netted by Hazard to give the Blues their third goal in 65 min.

Substitute player for Arsenal, Alex Iwobi not long after coming into the game pulled an effort with an incredible half volley to reduced the margin but Chelsea maintained their comfortable lead through another goal from Eden Hazard assisted by a pass from Giroud in the 72 min of the game.

After the game, the Belgium forward said that this might be his “goodbye” to the club as he his being link with a moved to real Madrid.

The trophy adds to give Chelsea its second Europa league cup and overall 5 European trophies – a Champions league, two Europa leagues, two Cup Winners’ Cup.
