COZA: Pastor Oyemade revealed What Pentecostal churches must do to prevent future abuse by clergymen

The Minister in charge of the Covenant Christian Center, Pastor Poju Oyemade on Monday, revealed what the Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria can do to forestall re-occurrence of abuse by clergymen.

He said that the overseeing body should introduce a more grounded structures by defining purposes of pastor relationships with individuals.

Oyemade said this on his Instagram page while responding to the charged assault leveled against the Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, by Busola, spouse of well known artist, Timi Dakolo.

“It is obvious that the way wherein our Pentecostal Churches were/are founded by an individual accepting a call straightforwardly from God and hence working to a great extent as an autonomous bodies, with administeration structures not as solid as in the conventional church settings.

“This, however, makes it imperative that we go an extra mile to show a high level of compassion and sense of responsibility for people placed under our care or else what has brought our great growth may be what will destroy us.
