The Department of State Services said the reason Omoyele Sowore is still in their custody is because they are yet to receive the court order.

Spokesperson of the DSS, Dr. Peter Afunnaya stated this during a telephone interview with The Punch on Thursday, September 23 in Abuja.

Afunnaya said, “We have not received the court order. And his (Sowore’s) counsel is a very senior member of the bar and he knows the process to follow; this process has not been followed.”

Recall the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the immediate release of Omoyele Sowore on Tuesday, September 21, stating that that there was no law in action for the DSS to keep him in further detention.
