Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, said IPOB members who attacked him at the New Year Festival celebration in Nuremberg, Germany were heavy on drugs and alcohol and that he has forgiven them.
Ekweremadu stated this to journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja on arrival from Germany.
He added that the attackers did not represent the feelings of the people and that Germany is free to follow up on the incident but he has moved on.
“I had a feeling that they (his attackers) were under the influence of alcohol and drugs. They did not represent the feelings of our people. I have forgiven them and I have moved on.
“The government of Germany is free to do whatever they want to do about their case.” he said
