Enugu govt to pursue completion of ongoing, abandoned projects

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State says that his administration will vigorously pursue completion of ongoing and abandoned projects in the state.

Ugwuanyi stated this in Enugu on Tuesday during 2020 budget presentation at the House of Assembly complex.

He said that the ongoing and abandoned projects includ the International Conference Centre, which according to him, will boost Enugu as the capital of former Eastern region.

The governor further mentioned some of the capital projects in 2020 to include: construction of Underpass Bridge at Nike Lake, development of Forest Park at Michael Okpara Square, construction of standard abattoir in 17 council areas of the Enugu among other projects.

Ugwuanyi presented N170 billion as 2020 budget proposal, urging the state assembly to give it accelerated hearing.

Presenting the budget, tagged Budget of Responsive and Accountable Government,   Ugwuanyi said the figure was 55 per cent higher than 2019 budget.

The governor explained that the increase of 2020 budget was in line with the commitment of his administration to initiate and execute quality developmental projects for the indigenes and residents of the state.
