Everton deny Tottenham victory in the final minute

Cenk Tosun’s header in the eighth minute of stoppage time denied Tottenham three points as the game ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Dele Alli’s found his goal after an error from Alex Iwobi but Everton were quick to upturn Pochettino’s luck despite a dread injury suffered by thier own player, Andre Gomes.

12th minutes was then added during the extra time. Everton in that space of time found the net when Tosun powerful header connected with Lucas Digne’s volleyed cross that flew past Paulo Gazzaniga.

However, Gomes injury fill the atmoshpere with compassion as his pain was felt largely by the crowd, players and both coach.

Pochettino’s comment towards the end of the match tells it all: “We can only send our best wishes and of course we are devastated about the situation.

He added that Son’s tackle on Gomes didn’t warrant a red card.

Since January, Tottenham are still without an away league win and are in 11th spot, 10 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea while everton are 17th place on the table.
