INEC declares Bello winner of Kogi governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello winner of the Kogi governorship election.

Bello of the All Progressive Congress (APC) polled a total of 406,222 votes to defeat Eng Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 189,704 votes.

The incumbent governor defeated his closest rival, Wada in 12 of the 21 local government areas in the state, while Wada won in 9 local government areas.
