Jose Mourinho has appeared in first picture as Tottenham manager after been announced as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor on Wednesday.
The Club shared the first official images of Jose Mourinho as their new head coach. Mourinho will be having his first test as Spur’s manager when they face West Ham on Saturday.
Tottenham’s Chairman, Daniel Levy said it was a difficult decision replacing Mauricio Pochettino who has served the club for six years, adding that reasons for his sack was linked to poor domestic performance.
“We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste,” the chairman said.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.
“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the club’s best interests.
“Mauricio and his coaching staff will always be part of our history,” Levy said.
Jose has expressed his excitement for the club: “I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters.
“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me.
“Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
Words from Pochettino is still to heard since he was sacked.
