Lagos, Nigeria has been ranked as one of the least safe cities in the world according to a recent index, Reuter reported.
The new agency on Thursday stated that according to a current index by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the former capital of Nigeria is among five cities that scored low.
The index assessed four types of safety: digital, infrastructure, health and personal security. The researchers told Reuter that the index involved sixty cities which was aimed at the concept of “Urban Resilence” which checks how quick cities are able to absorb and bounce back from shocks.
The other cities in similar ranking to Nigeria’s Lagos are: Venezuela’s Caracas, Myanmar’s Yangon, Pakistan’s Karachi and Bangladesh’s Dhaka.
However, Tokyo was named the world’s safest city with Singapore coming second.
