Man City beat Chelsea 2-1 to hold on to title race

Manchester City came from behind to secure a win against Chelsea to remain in contention for the Premier League title race.

Chelsea had the upper hand in the middle of the first half, as Kante found the net with a nice ball from Kovavic.

City, within 8 minutes levelled the score with a shot from Kevin de Bruyne’s which was deflected by Kurt Zouma into Chelsea’s net. 36 minutes later, Mahrez, weaving smoothly in between Chelsea’s defender, placed a curving shot pass the keeper to give City a 2-1 lead.

City dominated the second half but did not make much of it as well as Chelsea. Both teams lost chance to find the net when the moments provide itself.

Agurero was gifted a ball by Kepa in front of goal but his shot was denied by the crossbar. Mahrez twice missed the chance to increase their lead.

Only goal to come in the second half by Sterling during closing minutes of injury time was disallowed by VAR, thereby leaving the scene in an air of controversy.
