The governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullah Sule has expressed commitment and support towards the upcoming Nasarawa International Festival (NIFEST) during a fundraising dinner event held on thursday in the state capital.
The governor was represented by the senior special assistant on NGO, youth and sports, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta. He said NIFEST will open door to investors as well as promote unity among its people.
In his opening speech, the chairman of Sandaji Group also the chairman of the fundraising committee, Alhaji Sandaji said NIFEST is both a public and private venture that displays the rich cultural heritage of the state, for which his group are in support of.
He open the floor of the donation with a large sum in regards to the companies’ private ventures.
He also represented the former governor of the state, currently serving as a sitting senator representing Obi constituency, Sen. Umaru Tanko Almakura.
The senator donated the sum of 1million naira to the event and also appreciating the organizers of the event.
Speaking on the purpose and relevance of the festival the director of programs Nasarawa International festival, Mr Mohammed Egye believes the state is qualify and capable to host its own festival.
The event was a fundraising diner aimed at kickstarting the state first ever international cultural festival within the coming months.
