The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Usman Nagogo has met with various warring groups of Fulani herdsmen, Hausa farmers, Miyatti Allah, Vigilante, Traditional Rulers and other critical stakeholders at the palace of Emir of Bakura.
Nagogo called for the meeting in order for the warring groups to voice out their grievances for agreeable resolution to the farmers/herders conflict, banditry, kidnapping, attacks and reprisal attack and other related crime.
It is also to ensure the sustenance of peace being enjoyed in the state through the ongoing peace and reconciliation initiative.
This was contained in a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Police Command, SP Mohammed Shehu.
The Commissioner who presided over the meeting highlighted return of peace as well as 90% reduction of criminal activities as some successes achieved as a result of the peace process.
Nagogo urged all the warring groups to accept the ongoing peace process and ensure they channel their grievances through appropriate authority for redress.
The Emir of Bakura, Engineer BelloMohammed Sani OON praised Nagogo for his unrelenting effort in restoring lasting peace in Zamfara state.
