Tobi Amusan breaks Glory Alozie’s 20-year-old record to retain title

Nigerian hurdler,  Tobi Amusan broke Glory Alozie’s 20-year-old record on Wednesday August 28 to win gold at the 12th Africa Games Women’s 100m final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, Rabat, Morroco. 

The African Champion retained her title with a time of 12.68s hence surpassing Glory Alozie’s record of 12.74s, which she set in 1999 at the Africa Games in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Burkina Faso’s Koala Yasmine ran 13.20s to win silver while South Africa’s Bieldt Taylon won the bronze medal with her 13.40s run.

Amusan is also the 2018 Commonwealth and African champion in the event.
