Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Wike, who was the coordinator of the Atiku’s campaign in the south-south, urged Buhari to use his victory at the tribunal to work for Nigerians, “irrespective of their political leanings.”
He stated this in a statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, his media aide, on Wednesday.
“Governor Wike called on the President to work towards the unity of the country, noting that the country is divided,” Nwakaudu said in a statement.
Recall that the five-man Presidential Election Petition Tribunal led by Mohammed Garba dismissed the petition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for lacking merit.
“In the final result, I have come to the conclusion, which is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not discharged the burden of proof required of any of the grounds of the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.
“This petition is accordingly, and hereby dismissed in its entirety,” Garba ruled.
