Senator Dino Melaye has described last Saturday governorship and senatorial election in Kogi state as a civil war.

Melaye, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi West senatorial rerun election stated this on Tuesday via his Twitter handle.

He said what took place in Kogi state was not an election but a civil war that has claimed 16 lives.

He promised to report Gov Yahaya Bello, Smart Adeyemi, Speaker, kogi House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole and others to the international community and then proceed to Hague.

He wrote: What we had in kogi is no election,what we had was a civil war that has claimed 16 lives so far. I will report Bello, Smart Adeyemi, Taofik, Speaker Kolawole and Sunday Faleke to the international community and then proceed to Hague. This i promise..SDM

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the Kogi west senatorial rerun election inconclusive due to the difference in votes between Melaye and Adeyemi.

Smart Adeyemi, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total of 80,118 votes while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 59,548 votes.

The difference between both candidate is 20,570 while 43,127 votes were cancelled.
