The United States defeated Netherlands in Lyon to win their fourth Women’s World Cup for a record fourth time.
In the first half, the Netherlands were faced with an onslaught of attack from the US side. The half ended in a draw, luckily for the Netherlands who were saved by their goal keeper.
But about 16 minutes into the second half of the game, the USA team were able to open the score as a result of penalty scored by Rapinoe.
And then eight minutes later a rocket from Rose Lavelle put the tie beyond the Dutch with her solo effort run.
